Step inside Rosendal Palace

Ahead of each summer, the palaces are opened up after their winter hibernation. Seasonal maintenance is an important part of the work involved in preserving and maintaining interiors and collections.

Join us as the conservators and museum technicians from the Office of the Royal Collections get Rosendal Palace ready to open for the season.

The video is subtitled in English.

King Karl XIV Johan had Rosendal Palace built on Djurgården, close to the southern shore of Djurgårdsbrunn Bay. It was completed in 1827. The palace remains largely unchanged since the time of King Karl Johan, making Rosendal Palace a unique record of the Swedish Empire style.
