
A royal walk around the Royal Palace
A new experience is now available! Take a guided tour around the Royal Palace, and learn about its history, architecture, sculpture and surrounding buildings.
The Royal Walks app takes you on a historical circular walk around the Royal Palace.
The tour begins a thousand years back in time with the earliest history of the palace, from the core tower and defence fortress, via a devastating palace fire, to today's magnificent palace.
The tour show all sides of the palace, including a general overview and fascinating details.
How have the palace and the city influenced each other's appearances?
Do the façades of the palace have female and male sides?What was the purpose of Kungsträdgården?
And where was Queen Kristina's lion's den?
The walk starts below Lejonbacken, continuing via Norrbro (Stockholm's oldest stone bridge), Gustav Adolfs Torg, Stockholm Bay, Strömbron and the eastern side of the palace, up Slottsbacken and the southern side of the palace, and finally to the Outer Courtyard.

The Royal Walks app can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store and Google Play. The text is in Swedish and English, and is illustrated with new and historic photos which can be viewed anywhere.

Discover new sides of the palace! The Royal Walks app guides you through art and architecture, as well as through events and history.

The guided tour takes you in a wide circle around the palace, describing the surrounding buildings and places that were of significance for the palace.

The first Royal Stables were built on the island of Helgeandsholmen, very close to the Tre Kronor Castle, on the site where the Riksdag building stands today.
