Lady Louise Mountbatten married Crown Prince Gustaf (VI) Adolf in 1923. She was 34 years old, and became stepmother to five children. The Crown Prince's first wife, Crown Princess Margaret, had died a few years previously. In 1950, Louise became Queen of Sweden.
